Karl Laquit

Originally from France, Karl Laquit studied choir singing and piano. Under the guidance of Elena Vassilieva, he perfected his voice in the French haute-contre style (particularly in the role of Platée by Rameau), but also as a countertenor and as a tenor – performing roles such as Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), the Singer (Der Rosenkavalier), and Max (Der Freischütz). Recently, he portrayed Pink Giant in Raskatov's GerMANIA in Lyon, as well as appearing in Orff's Carmina Burana, Rossini's Stabat Mater, and Puccini's Messa di Gloria.
