Nancy Euverink

During her 20-year career at the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) Nancy Euverink danced in several works of renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Hans van Manen, Wayne McGregor, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Jorma Elo and the duo Sol León & Paul Lightfoot. She has created numerous choreographies herself for the annual NDT choreographic workshop as well as the sound designs for these ballets. In 2005, she received the award of achievement by Stichting Dansersfonds ’79. Since ending her career as a dancer in 2007 she has worked as a repetiteur and choreographic assistant. She has a particularly close collaboration with Jiří Kylián and Jorma Elo. Furthermore, she assisted choreographers such as Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Johan Inger, Marne & Imre van Opstal and Jiří Pokorný and staged works by Marco Goecke, Alexander Ekman, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar as well as Edward Clug. She also shares her extensive knowledge of Hans van Manen's work.

From 2011 to 2014 Nancy Euverink has been the Director of the Dance Department at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She has played a key role in realizing the first »Young Talent Projects « in cooperation with the Nederlands Dans Theater for which she was able to win over numerous renowned choreographers. Unique programmes were created with the students – including one in 2013 in honour of Queen Beatrix in gratitude for her support of the Royal Conservatoire and the Arts.

From 2014 to 2018 Nancy Euverink has also been the Artistic Director of NDT 2. She has curated diverse programs in the Netherlands and for international touring. Among the companies she worked with are Hubbard Street Chicago, Royal Danish Ballet, American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet, Ballet Basel, Norwegian and Finnish National Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Boston Ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Scottish Ballet, State Ballet of Georgia, Ballet of the Moscow Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre, Houston Ballet, National Ballet Company of Portugal, Ballett am Rhein and the Compañía Nacional de Danza.
Nancy Euverink was a guest at the Vienna State Opera for the first time in 2010 as Choreographic Assistant for the world premiere of Jorma Eloʼs A Midsummer Nightʼs Dream.

The 2023/24 season will be followed by staging Hans van Manenʼs Concertante as part of the new ballet evening Shifting Symmetries.
