Miriam Kutrowatz

The Viennese soprano Miriam Kutrowatz was a member of the Young Ensemble of the Theater an der Wien from 2020-2022, where she embodied Idaspe (Il Bajazet), Marie (The Armourer), First Niece (Peter Grimes), L'Amour (Orphée et Eurydice) or Alinda (Il Giasone), among others. As part of the Young Singers Project, she debuted in the title role of the children's opera Vom Stern der nicht leuchten konnte at the Salzburg Festival in 2021. Other roles on the opera stage were Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre and Morgana (Alcina) at the »JOpera« festival. The soprano has appeared at the Vienna Konzerthaus in various programmes under Phillipe Jordan, Andrés Orozco Estrada or Erwin Ortner. She made her debut in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein with Mozart's Requiem. She is a regular guest at the Styriarte Festival, most recently as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, in Handel's Dixit Dominus and Vivaldi's Magnificat under Jordi Savall. International engagements have taken her to the Philharmonie de Paris with Beethoven's Choral Symphony, among others. Highlights of her concert and song work include Die Schöpfung (Haydn), the cantata Exultate Jubilate and the Great Mass in C minor (Mozart), the cantata Mirjams Siegesgesang and Der Hochzeitsbraten (Schubert), and Filia in the oratorio Jephte (Carissimi). Miriam Kutrowatz is a multiple prize winner at the 2019 Cesti International Vocal Competition for Baroque Opera and a semi-finalist at the 2020 Glyndebourne Opera Cup. She studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Edith Lienbacher and Florian Boesch. She attended master classes with Marjana Mijanovic and Malcolm Martineau.
