Francesco Ivan Ciampa

FRANCESCO IVAN CIAMPA was born in Avellino/Italy and studied conducting at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He was assistant to Antonio Pappano and Daniel Oren, is a laureate of the National Arts Awards and won the first prize in the conducting competition of the Italian Ministry for Education, Universities and Research. Francesco Ivan Ciampa has conducted the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra Parma, the Orchestra Filarmonica Salernitana and the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, among others. Guest engagements have taken him to the Opéra Bastille in Paris (La traviata), the Bavarian State Opera (Il trovatore), the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Nabucco), the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires (L'elisir d'amore), the Opera Nova della Marca in Ancona (Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly) as well as to the opera houses on Verona, Parma, Turin, Palermo, Salerno, Naples, Venice, Bilbao and Tel Aviv. He is also the conductor of the Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento. He makes his debut at the Vienna State Opera in the current series of performances of Manon Lescaut.
