Emily D'Angelo

Mezzo soprano EMILY D’ANGELO studied at the University of Toronto, Ravinia Festival Steans Institute Chicago and Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, and she graduated from Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. She has won awards in several competitions, among them Neue Stimmen 2017, Gerda Lissner, and Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, which she won in 2016. Nerone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and Sesto in Giulio Cesare were among her first performances. At Festival di Due Mondi in Spoleto she sang Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, and at Canadian Opera Company she had a part in Die Zauberflöte and sang the title part in Ariodante. She portrayed Annio in La clemenza di Tito at Opera Theatre Saint Louis, and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Glimmerglass Festival. Most recently, the mezzo soprano has appeared as Cherubino in Berlin, Dorabella in Toronto and at Santa Fe Opera, and as Annio at the New York Met. She is scheduled to appear in Santa Fe and Paris, among others.
